  • UPMC Student Health Counselor (Associate EAP Specialist)-Accepting Applications

    This non-SFU position with UPMC,  under the direction of the LS Clinical Director and/or Medical Director,  is responsible for providing the clinical services for the Employee Assistance Program, which provides confidential counseling and guidance to the employees, household members, students of various contracted organizations and telemedicine clients who are experiencing personal, mental health and/or job-related problems.  The Associate EAP Specialist will provide short term, focused clinical interventions for clients utilizing telemedicine platform under the supervision of the Medical and Clinical Director. The Associate EAP Specialist will establish collaborative relationships with clients, physicians, health care providers, and employers to achieve desired outcomes. The Associate EAP Specialist will consult with supervisory and management personnel in handling staff member performance problems and in determining appropriate actions.  The Associate EAP Specialist will develop and present trainings to employer groups as requested. The Associate EAP Specialist will be a conduit to a myriad of resources, including Health Coaching, awareness of website resources, and community and provide resources.  

    Master's degree in Social Work, Counselor Education, Counseling and Guidance, Psychology, or other related behavioral sciences.  Must follow licensing criteria for supervision and be eligible for and actively pursing licensure.  Must have or actively pursing one of the below licensures (Proof of application for licensure is required): Clinical Social Work (CSW); Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Licensed Social Worker (LSW).  Two years of previous work experience in general counseling including experience in drug/alcohol counseling preferred.  Must be familiar with the development and implementation of brief counseling and solution focused treatment plans, group process, career guidance and planning and systemic change.  Must be able to establish a climate of trust and communicate effectively with a broad range of employees, managers and administrators from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds and levels of responsibility. Must be familiar with crisis intervention, referral techniques, and effective means of assessing community resources.  Must be able to make successful referrals for needed assistance beyond EAP. Must have good written and oral communication.  Experience in employee assistance programs, administrative duties, case management, and clinical service delivery is preferred.

    ذكذكتسئµ Francis University invites applications for positions as lifeguards for the Department of Athletics.  Lifeguards are responsible to the Head Coach, Swimming to maintain order at the pool facility by preventing accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of patrons.  Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring the pool facilities for  potential hazards or unsafe conditions, providing first aid to patrons, custodial duties in maintaining the pool facilities, public relations, and all other duties as necessary or required.

    Candidates must be at least sixteen years of age or older.  Lifeguard training certification, CPR & First Aid Certification, and completed ACT153 Clearances are required.  Excellent public relations, oral and written skills.  Strong swimming skills and endurance to perform rescues effectively.  Successful candidate will be trained to operate equipment properly at the facility.

    ذكذكتسئµ Francis is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual who will help guide its Accelerated 3+2 Master of Physician Assistant Sciences program into the future.  Joined by a team of exceptional and seasoned faculty, the full-time Chair/Program Director will hold administrative and teaching responsibilities in a 12-month non-tenure track position. This position offers opportunities to collaborate with other professional programs in our distinguished School of Health Sciences and Education and the DiSepio Institute for Rural Health and Wellness, which houses our brand-new Experiential Learning Commons. This is a modern, state-of-the-art simulation area which includes Anatomage and HoloAnatamy, a brand-new cadaver lab and countless opportunities for interdisciplinary learning in a hospital-like setting.

    The qualified candidate will hold a minimum of a master's degree at rank of Associate Professor however a doctorate degree is preferred.  The candidate will also hold three years of full-time teaching experience in higher education required, while five years is preferred.  Must be currently NCCPA certified physician assistant and licensed in the state of Pennsylvania, or willing and able to attain licensure. Must be able to support the mission and Franciscan Goals of Higher Education of ذكذكتسئµ Francis University.

    ذكذكتسئµ Francis University invites applications from qualified candidates for a full-time faculty position to teach in the University's Department of Nursing BSN Program.  Full time faculty responsibilities include undergraduate chronic theory and clinical, community nursing theory and clinical, obstetrical clinical experience, and pathophysiology/pharmacology course.  In addition, the incumbent will participate in the University's General Education program, advise students, maintain scholarship and service activities, and assist in maintenance of CCNE accreditation status and State Board of Nursing compliance.

    Requirements include a master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution (doctoral degree preferred, or a specific plan to complete one within 4 years of appointment); Unencumbered current licensure in PA as a registered nurse, or eligible for licensure in PA; strong background and experience  in acute medical/surgical nursing, community nursing, and chronic nursing experience preferred.  Obstetrical and pediatric clinical experience a plus; two years of recent clinical experience; proven track record of undergraduate teaching and curricular experience; excellent oral and written communication skills. Faculty rank contingent upon qualifications and teaching experience.
